LibGuides: A-Z overview and per discipline
Referencing with APA
A reference gives any reader the possibility to check where (and in some cases when) information was found: in which book or journal article, dissertation, report, video, on which web page.
You have to use a citation style. The most used style at Zuyd is APA.
- The 'SFU Online APA Citation Guide' is based on the APA Publication Manual, 6th ed. It provides selected citation examples for common types of sources.
There are also APA guides available in Dutch and German: - De APA-richtlijnen uitgelegd: een praktische handleiding voor bronvermelding in het hoger onderwijs'.
- 'Erläuterung der APA-Richtlinien: Ein praktisches Handbuch für die Quellenangabe im Hochschulwesen'. (new)
In the LibGuide 'Processing and evaluation' you learn how to (re)use (scientific) information correctly.
You will learn the importance of paying attention to copyright laws and how to prevent plagiarism. You will also learn how and when you can quote and paraphrase information from other sources. In addition, you will discover how you can collect and use literature references.
