
Training and Support for the New Plagiarism Tool: Turnitin Similarity
The Copyright Information Team (AIP) offers training sessions through Docentprofessionalisering. Due to the transition to Turnitin Similarity, additional training dates are available:
- Thursday, 30 October 2025, 09:00–11:00 (fully booked)
- Friday, 31 October 2025, 13:00–15:00
- Thursday, 6 November 2025, 09:00–11:00
- Wednesday, 12 November 2025, 14:00–16:00
- Wednesday, 19 November 2025, 09:00–11:00
During these additional training sessions in October and November, the general section on plagiarism (“What is plagiarism”) will not be covered. The focus will be entirely on the new functionalities of Turnitin. Depending on the number of participants, the online training will last between 1 and 2 hours.
The sessions will be conducted via Microsoft Teams.
Please note: The training sessions are conducted in Dutch.

Turnitin Similarity: What’s New
Starting Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at 09:00, Zuyd will use Turnitin Similarity for plagiarism detection. From that moment on, Ouriginal will no longer be available.
What’s changing?
The Similarity Report introduces several new features, including:
- Source cards categorized by type, with color coding for clarity
- Flags indicating suspicious text manipulations
- Exclusion filters (four types, automatically categorized)
- Clear overview of page and word count
